FlowShiftWaveMind started in the autumn of 2019 when Mara Sollis left a senior strategy role at a mid-sized logistics firm in Portland and decided she was done writing recommendations that nobody read. She had spent six years producing slide decks that were thorough, well-researched, and largely ignored. The problem was not the quality of the thinking. It was that the thinking arrived too late, too polished, and too far removed from the people who actually had to act on it. She started the practice with one client, a friend who ran a small manufacturing business and needed someone to talk to on Tuesday mornings.
